Intra-School Competition

These whole school/key stage competitions work around a range of different and alternative sports and are designed to enable pupils to use, develop and challenge their sports skills, techniques and tactical awareness in games that are unfamilar to them. All the activities are designed to be incusive where possible with a number of different variations to faciliate differiencation for less and more able pupils including gifted and talented and leadership roles.

Building Bridges Program

With the focus on team this day starts with an assemble looking at who helps an Olympic athlete to achieve their goal. This vision is then used  through a series of team building challenges using both verbal and non-verbal communication skills to develop the idea of team within classes.

The Building Bridges Program has worked well with schools that have an diverse intake of pupils from a number of different ethlic backgrounds and are addressing the issue of community.

Field Trips

There is nothing like a school trip where children fall asleep on the way back. So far we have run this field trip twice at the end of an Outdoor and Adenturous scheme of work but would work well as a stand alone trip .or even a staff team building session.

Participates are devided into teams for the morning and are asked to complete a series of team building challenges around issues of trust, communication and co-operation, followed by an introduction to orienteering with a  short course to complete.

The afternoon is then used to put these skills to the test with a longer timed orienteering challenge and a number of map and team related acivities. Participates are outdoors in the fresh air for the whole of the day come rain or shine. A brilliant day out.

Sports Days

From huge all singing, all dancing whole school Olympic style sports days to small mutli-skills fun game sessions, with the help of your staff and sports leaders Wakefield School Sports Network  can delivery for your school.

With the experience of a number of sports days over the past few years we will supply the planning, ideas and support to make your sports day run smoothly.

Nursery Fun Sessions

With themes like 'Going on a Bear Hunt' and 'Farmer Duck' activities are planned to develop pupils fundamental movement skills of balance, agility and co-ordination.

Pupils are challenged to bring the cows in, wade across the river, collect the eggs, crawl through the caves and many more.

Always great fun.
